Portable Storage Containers in Douglas County

Douglas County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the country, and almost everything about storage here follows from that. Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Parker, Lone Tree and Castle Pines have gone from ranch land to suburb inside two generations, and the building has not stopped.

So the work here is rarely a restoration. It is people moving in, people moving up, and new construction — which is a different job with different timing.

New builds and the gap between closing dates

The most common Douglas County problem we can solve is a gap: the new build is not finished, the old place has sold, and everything you own needs somewhere to be for three weeks.

A container covers that without double-handling. Load it once at the old house, we store it or park it, and it comes back when you have keys. Nothing gets carried twice and nothing goes into a rented unit you then have to empty again.

HOAs are the thing to check first

Master-planned communities come with rules, and Douglas County has more of them than anywhere else we serve. Plenty of HOAs here are specific about where a container may sit and how long it may stay — often driveway only, often with a day limit.

Check with yours before you book. It is a five-minute phone call that occasionally changes the whole plan, and it is much better found out now than on delivery day.

The northern suburbs and the rural south

The county splits in two for delivery purposes. Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree and the Meridian area are dense, established suburb — tidy driveways, tight cul-de-sacs, HOA rules in play.

South and west toward Franktown, Sedalia and the Palmer Divide it opens right up into acreage, ponderosa and broken ground. Placement is rarely the issue out there; the track up to the house sometimes is. Tell us which half you are in.

What people use a container for in Douglas County

Douglas County work follows the growth. These are the jobs we plan for.

New-build gaps. Castle Rock, Parker and the Sterling Ranch side of the county are still building, and a finish date that slips is normal. The old house sells, the new one is not ready, and everything needs a home for a few weeks. We load once, hold the unit at our yard, and deliver when there are keys.

Basement finishes. Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree homes from the 1990s and 2000s are finishing basements at a steady rate. The contents of the lower level come out into a container in the driveway and go back when the drywall is done.

Moving up within the county. A first home in Parker to a bigger one in Castle Pines, or a townhome in Highlands Ranch to a lot in Franktown. Load over a week, we move it, unload at your pace.

Acreage and outbuildings. South of Castle Rock and out toward Elizabeth and the Palmer Divide, a container holds equipment, feed and tools while a barn or shop goes up.

Delivery day in Douglas County

Douglas County is the southern end of our Front Range run from Brighton, so we ask for a little more notice than for the north metro. Addresses beyond 30 miles of our yard carry a per-mile move fee rather than the flat one; we tell you which applies when we look at the address.

In Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker and Castle Rock the practical questions are the HOA and the cul-de-sac. We need a level spot about a car and a half long with a clear overhead approach, and a turnaround for the truck. Send a photo of the driveway and, if you have them, your HOA's rules on containers.

Out on the rural side, placement is rarely the issue; the track up to the house sometimes is. Tell us if it is unpaved, steep or has a tight turn. Once the unit is set it stays month to month, and if it cannot sit at the property at all, we store it loaded at our gated yard and bring it back when you are ready.

Where we deliver in Douglas County

Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree: Established suburbs with HOA rules, tidy driveways and a lot of basement finishes.

Parker: Newer subdivisions to the south and east, plus older acreage properties on the edges.

Castle Rock and Castle Pines: The county seat and its neighbor, where new construction and moves up are the usual jobs.

The rural south and west: Franktown, Sedalia, Larkspur and the Palmer Divide, where placement is easy and the driveway is the question.

Whether your address is inside the flat move-fee radius from Brighton or charged by the mile depends on where in the county you are; we tell you which as soon as we see it.

Douglas County storage FAQ

How much notice do you need for Castle Rock or Parker?

A week is ideal. Douglas County is the far end of our run from Brighton, so we group deliveries by day. Call 720-674-8777 with the address and we will give you the earliest date.

Is the move fee flat in Douglas County?

It depends on the address. Within 30 miles of our Brighton yard the move fee is flat; beyond that it is charged by the mile. The monthly rate on the container is the same everywhere we serve.

My HOA limits how long a container can sit out front. What are my options?

Check the rule first. If the limit is shorter than your project, we can deliver, let you load, and take the unit to our gated yard for the rest of the time, then bring it back for unloading.

Can I keep the container on site during a basement finish?

Yes, if the driveway has room. Most customers keep it for access to furniture and tools during the work. The unit is month to month, so a project that runs long is not a problem.

Do you deliver to unpaved driveways south of Castle Rock?

Usually, yes, as long as the track is firm enough for the truck and there is a level spot at the top. Send a photo of the approach and we will confirm before booking.

What size container do you deliver in Douglas County?

One size: an 8-by-16-foot welded steel container that holds roughly three to four rooms. For a full house we can bring two if the driveway or lot has room.
