Portable Storage Containers in Utah County

Most Utah County moves are short ones. People here tend to stay put — a bigger house two towns over, a first place closer to the parents, a rental while a build finishes — and they usually have family lined up to help carry boxes. What they don’t have is a free Saturday when everyone is available at once.

A Velox container solves the scheduling more than the lifting. We drop it at the house, it sits there, and the help loads it whenever the help shows up.

One flat rate, anywhere in the county

Utah County is flat-rate for us. Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs are the far edge — almost the whole way around the lake from our lot — and they cost the same as a delivery in Springville. Anything south of Provo we think of as south Utah County; that is the same rate too.

You do not need to work out whether you are far enough out to be expensive. In this county you are not.

Steep driveways and HOA rules

Pleasant Grove has some genuinely steep driveways, and we have learned which ones need a different approach. Bring us the address and we will tell you honestly whether it will work before you book.

The other thing that comes up more every year is HOAs. Townhome developments across the county are getting specific about where a container can sit and for how long. It is worth a quick check with yours — and if the driveway is out, we can usually find a spot that keeps everyone happy.

Ten years of local moves

One of the first families I ever moved had three little kids, and they watched me load that container looking genuinely nervous about the whole idea. It went from Springville to Lehi without incident.

I have moved that same family twice more since. They are in Payson now. Ten years on, that is still the part of this job I like most — the moves are local, and so are the people, and you end up seeing how the story turns out.

What people use a container for in Utah County

Because both of our Utah yards sit in this county — Springville and Pleasant Grove — Utah County is where we see the widest range of jobs. A few come up week after week.

Moves between towns. Lehi to Saratoga Springs, Orem to Vineyard, Provo to Spanish Fork. Short distances, but the timing rarely lines up cleanly. A container loaded over a week at the old house and set down at the new one removes the frantic weekend and the second truck.

New construction in the west side. Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs and Vineyard are still building fast, and a build that runs long is normal. The family sells the old place, the new one is not ready, and everything they own needs a home for a month. We load it once, store it at our yard, and bring it out when there are keys.

Missions, study abroad and student housing. With BYU and UVU here, we store a lot of apartments. Someone leaving for eighteen months packs one unit, we hold it in the yard, and it is waiting when they land.

Remodels in the older neighborhoods. Provo, Springville, Payson and American Fork have plenty of homes from the 1950s through the 1970s that are getting kitchens, basements and additions. Clearing a floor into a container in the driveway keeps the contents dry, locked and a few steps from the front door.

Delivery day in Utah County

We bring the container on our own truck and set it where you point, level, with the doors facing the direction you want. A standard two-car driveway has room; if yours is on a slope, tell us before the day so we can plan the approach. Overhead clearance matters more than people expect — low branches, a basketball hoop or a power drop over the driveway can decide where the unit goes.

If the unit has to sit on the street rather than the driveway, most cities in the county treat that as a right-of-way question. We wrote a plain-English guide to storage container permits in Utah County so you know what to ask your city before you book.

Once it is set, it stays until you tell us otherwise. Month-to-month, no long contract. When you are done we come back for it, or we haul it loaded to your new address anywhere in the county for the same flat move fee.

Where we deliver in Utah County

North county: Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Lindon, Highland, Alpine and Cedar Hills, where the tech corridor has brought steady moves in and out and the older neighborhoods near the foothills are remodeling.

The west side: Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain and Vineyard, still some of the fastest-building places in the state, where the usual job is a new home that is not finished yet.

Provo, Orem and Springville: Our home turf. Student housing, missions, older homes being renovated and the shortest deliveries we make.

South county: Spanish Fork, Salem, Payson, Santaquin, Elk Ridge and Mapleton, where lots are bigger, shops and barns are common and the container often goes beside an outbuilding rather than on the driveway.

Every one of these is the same flat move fee. Our city pages for Provo, Orem, Lehi and Spanish Fork go into more detail.

Utah County storage FAQ

How quickly can you deliver a container in Utah County?

Usually within a couple of days, and often faster. Our yards are in Springville and Pleasant Grove, so there is no long haul before the truck reaches you. Call 801-362-9978 with the address and we will give you the next open slot.

Is the move fee really the same in Eagle Mountain as in Springville?

Yes. Utah County is one flat move fee for us, edge to edge. The monthly rate for the container is the same everywhere we serve; the move fee is charged per move, so a delivery and a later pickup are two moves.

Can you store the container at your yard instead of my driveway?

Yes. Storing a loaded unit at our gated yard costs nothing beyond the move fees to bring it in and out. It is the usual answer for HOA rules, a build that is not ready, or an eighteen-month mission.

What fits in an 8x16 container?

Roughly the contents of a two- to three-bedroom home, or three to four rooms of a larger house. Most Utah County families moving a full home use one unit per two to three bedrooms, and we can set two side by side if the driveway allows.

Do I need a permit to put a container in my driveway?

On your own driveway or private property, normally no. On a public street, most Utah County cities want a permit or at least a phone call first. Our permit guide lists what the main cities ask for, and we will tell you which situation you are in when we look at the address.

Do you deliver to Vineyard and Saratoga Springs?

Yes, and at the same flat Utah County move fee as anywhere else in the county. West-side deliveries are usually to newer homes with standard driveways, and the most common job is holding a loaded unit until a build is finished.

Tell us the address and the rough dates and we will give you a straight number. A local move with a Velox container typically lands at well under half what the national container brands quote for the same job, and there is no call centre between you and an answer.
