Jefferson County is really two counties wearing one name. East of the hogback it is established Front Range suburb — Lakewood, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Edgewater, Golden — with mid-century ranch homes, mature trees and ordinary driveways.
West of it, the ground stands up. Evergreen, Conifer, Genesee, Kittredge, Indian Hills, Morrison and Ken Caryl are mountain communities, and delivering a loaded container up there is a different skill entirely.
The foothills are the interesting half
Mountain properties come with steep, winding, sometimes unpaved driveways, switchbacks that a truck with a container behind it has to be driven into deliberately, and turnarounds that either exist or very much do not.
This is the kind of delivery we do routinely in Utah, where our drivers take loaded units up hillside benches that several national operators simply refuse. The terrain here is steeper and the weather is worse, so we would rather look at your access first than guess — but a hard driveway is not automatically a no from us.
Tell us about the driveway before you book
If you are up in the foothills, the single most useful thing you can send us is a photo of your driveway and the road approaching it, plus a rough idea of the grade and whether a delivery truck has been up there before.
We will give you a straight answer — yes, yes with a plan, or no with a reason. Nobody benefits from a truck driving forty minutes uphill to a spot that was never going to work.
Old Golden, Olde Town, and the flat side
Down on the plains it is more straightforward. Arvada's Olde Town and the older parts of Golden and Wheat Ridge have the narrower streets and smaller lots you would expect from the oldest parts of the county, so placement is worth checking.
Everywhere else in Lakewood, Arvada and the Littleton side, driveways are generous and the job is simple. Most of our Jefferson County deliveries are exactly that: uneventful.
What people use a container for in Jefferson County
The two halves of Jefferson County use containers differently.
Remodels on the flat side. Lakewood, Arvada and Wheat Ridge are full of mid-century ranches getting kitchens, basements and additions. A container in the driveway takes the contents of the rooms being worked on and keeps them dry and locked for the length of the job.
Moves between suburbs. Arvada to Golden, Lakewood to Littleton, Wheat Ridge to Westminster. Load over a week, we move the unit across the county, unload at your pace.
Mountain builds and remodels. In Evergreen, Conifer and Genesee, a remodel often means a whole floor has to be emptied and there is no nearby storage. A container on the property, or held at our yard, covers it.
Gear-heavy households. Bikes, skis, rafts, camping equipment. Households along the foothills run out of garage, and a container takes the overflow while a shop or a garage extension goes up.
Delivery day in Jefferson County
We come from our Brighton yard with the container on our own truck. Most of Lakewood, Arvada, Wheat Ridge and Golden falls within our flat move-fee radius; addresses further out along the foothills may be charged by the mile, and we tell you which when we look at the address.
On the flat side, we need a level spot roughly a car and a half long with a clear overhead approach. In Olde Town Arvada and the older parts of Golden and Wheat Ridge, a photo of the frontage helps us plan around narrow streets and mature trees.
Above the hogback, we want to see the driveway before we book: grade, switchbacks, turnarounds and whether a delivery truck has been up there before. We will give you a straight answer. In winter, the drop spot needs to be plowed and level. If the property will not work, we store the loaded unit at our gated yard and bring it back when the job is done.
Where we deliver in Jefferson County
Lakewood: Belmar, Green Mountain, Applewood and the mid-century neighborhoods in between. Ordinary driveways, simple deliveries.
Arvada and Wheat Ridge: Olde Town and the older blocks need a placement conversation; the newer parts of west Arvada do not.
Golden: The old downtown grid and the newer neighborhoods along the foothills.

Can you deliver to Evergreen or Conifer?
Often, yes. We want a photo of the driveway and the approach road first, and a rough idea of the grade. If it works, we book it; if it does not, we say so before a truck drives up the hill.
Is the move fee the same in Golden as in Arvada?
Within 30 miles of our Brighton yard the move fee is flat, which covers most of the flat side of the county. Foothill addresses beyond that radius are charged by the mile. The monthly rate on the container is the same everywhere.
Can a container sit outside through a mountain winter?
Yes. The unit is welded steel with a gasketed door seal, and snow load and cold stay outside. We ask that the drop spot be plowed and level on delivery day and that you plan where the snow will be pushed afterwards.
Do I need a permit in Lakewood or Arvada?
On your own driveway or private property, normally no. Placing a container on a public street is a city right-of-way question, and each city sets its own rule, so check with yours if the driveway will not work.
Can you hold my belongings while a foothills remodel finishes?
Yes. We take the loaded container to our gated yard in Brighton and bring it back when the crew is out. You pay the move fees in and out plus the monthly rate; the yard itself costs nothing extra.
What size container do you deliver in Jefferson County?
One size: an 8-by-16-foot welded steel container, roughly three to four rooms. On a foothills lot the single size matters; it fits where a longer unit could not be placed.
