Portable Storage Containers in Salt Lake City, Utah

We deliver everywhere in Salt Lake City — the Avenues, Sugar House, Rose Park, Liberty Wells, the neighborhoods around the University, and downtown. It’s about an hour from our Utah County yard, and Salt Lake County is one flat rate for us, so the drive isn’t a line on your quote. Setting a unit a block from Temple Square never stops being fun.
Old houses, new plans
Salt Lake is one of the oldest cities in the state, and most of what we do here follows from that. The bungalows, Victorians and brick four-squares in the Avenues, Liberty Wells and Sugar House are being restored and remodeled into modern historic homes, and every one of those projects empties rooms. A container in the driveway keeps a household’s belongings dry, locked and close while the floors come up.
We also see plenty of straightforward moves: apartments near the U, families moving between neighborhoods, and people leaving the city for Lehi or the south valley.
Delivering in the city
The hard part of Salt Lake City is the traffic, not the people — drivers here are respectful when we have to block a lane for ten minutes to set a unit. The Avenues are the tightest: narrow streets, and we somehow always land there on garbage day. Give us a heads-up if your street is one-lane with cars on both sides and we’ll plan the approach.
If you’re new to the city, the grid addresses feel confusing for about a week and then make finding anything easy. Our drivers have long since learned it.
The carport in the Avenues
An elderly woman in the Avenues needed a container but had almost nowhere to put it: a short driveway, a narrow street, and winter coming. We set the unit under her carport instead. She could still park in the driveway behind it, and neither her car nor the container was in the road when the snowplows came through. Text us a photo of what you’ve got and we’ll find the spot.
Around the city for Utah Pride
For the last few years the Utah Pride Festival and Parade has used our containers for the event, and it’s a good feeling to see Velox units scattered around downtown for a weekend. If you’re running an event, a festival or a market in the city, that’s a job we know how to do.
What fits, and what it costs to find out
Every Velox container is 8 by 16 feet — about 800 cubic feet inside, one parking stall, rated to 7,500 pounds. A two- to three-bedroom home usually fits in one. On a tight Avenues lot the single size is an advantage: it goes where a bigger box won’t. Salt Lake County is one flat rate for us, so the only things that move your quote are the number of containers, the months you keep them, the number of moves, and any add-ons. No deposit, one-month minimum, same rate every month. Size guide.
Salt Lake City storage questions
How fast can you deliver to Salt Lake City?
Usually within a day or two. We run to Salt Lake most days. Book ahead for Fridays and month-end.
Can you deliver in the Avenues?
Yes. It’s the tightest part of the city, so tell us about your street and we’ll plan the approach. We’ve set units under carports and on short drives up there.
Do I need a permit?
Not on your own driveway or property. In the street, Salt Lake City treats it as a right-of-way question; call the city first, or ask us and we’ll tell you what we know.
Can you place a container for an event?
Yes. We’ve done it for Utah Pride and for city events in Utah County. Tell us the dates and where the units need to sit.
Is there a distance charge from your yard?
No. Salt Lake County is flat-rate for us even though it’s about an hour away.
