Portable Storage Containers in Salt Lake County
Salt Lake County is the most mixed market we serve. In a single week we will deliver to a family upsizing across the valley, a couple gutting a 1950s kitchen, and an employer relocating somebody in from out of state. The housing stock is old enough that remodels and restorations are constant.
The container goes on the driveway and stays as long as the job takes, which is what makes it work for a remodel that runs three weeks longer than anyone planned.
The grid takes a minute, then it is easy
Newcomers tend to hate the address grid. Everybody who has learned it swears by it — once it clicks, you can find any address in the valley from the number alone. Locally, people mostly navigate by city name, by the East Bench, or by which I-15 exit they are nearest.
Give us whichever version you think in. We know the valley and we will find you.

Flat rate across the valley
Our lot is in Utah County, so every Salt Lake County delivery is about an hour each way for us. It is still a flat rate. Draper or Magna, the price is the same, and the drive is our problem rather than a line on your quote.
Traffic can make a delivery window less precise than we would like, particularly through the middle of the valley. It has never stopped us getting a container where it needs to be.
A real person, not a call centre
The national operators run this market entirely online, through a call centre somewhere else, with staff who have never driven a Salt Lake County street.
My first ever job, ten years ago, was a move to Riverton. It took me two hours, mostly because I was still learning. We do that same job in minutes now — and you can still get me on the phone to schedule it.
What people use a container for in Salt Lake County
The valley has every kind of housing and every kind of storage problem, but four jobs make up most of our Salt Lake County deliveries.
Remodels in the older neighborhoods. Sugar House, the Avenues, Millcreek, Holladay, Rose Park and the older parts of Murray and Sandy are full of homes that are being opened up rather than replaced. Emptying a kitchen or a whole main floor into a locked container on the driveway keeps the project moving and the furniture out of the dust.
Moves across the valley. Draper to Herriman, Taylorsville to South Jordan, West Valley to Magna. The distance is small, the schedule is the problem. Load the container over a week, we move it across the valley, unload at your pace.
Relocations in and out of state. Employers along the tech corridor and downtown bring people in from elsewhere, and a household often lands before the house does. We can hold a loaded container at our yard until there is somewhere to put it. Our Utah trucks stay inside Utah, so for a cross-country move we are the local end, not the long haul.
Staging a home for sale. Agents in the valley routinely ask sellers to clear half the furniture before photos. A container takes it all, stays on site or comes to our yard, and comes back when the house closes.
Delivery day in the Salt Lake Valley
We come up from Utah County and set the container on your driveway with our own truck. We need a level spot about a car and a half long with a clear overhead approach. Older streets on the east bench and in the Avenues are narrow and sometimes steep; a photo of the frontage before we book saves everyone a wasted trip.
Street placement is handled city by city here — Salt Lake City, Sandy, West Jordan and the rest each have their own rules about containers in the public right-of-way. On your own driveway or lot there is normally nothing to file. If the driveway is out, we store the loaded unit at our yard and bring it back when you need it.
The container stays month to month. When you are done, we collect it, or move it loaded to your new address anywhere in the county for one flat move fee.
Where we deliver in Salt Lake County
Salt Lake City proper: The Avenues, Sugar House, Rose Park, Glendale, Liberty Wells and downtown. Older homes, narrower streets and the most remodel work in the valley.
The east side: Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights and Sandy up against the mountains. Larger lots, bench driveways and long-running renovations.
The southwest: Herriman, Riverton, South Jordan, West Jordan and Bluffdale, where new construction and moves between subdivisions make up most of what we deliver.
The west side: West Valley City, Taylorsville, Kearns and Magna. Standard driveways, straightforward deliveries.
The south end: Draper and the Point of the Mountain, the last stop before our home county.
Every one of these is the same flat move fee. See our pages for Salt Lake City, West Valley City, West Jordan, South Jordan, Sandy, Herriman and Millcreek for the local detail.
Salt Lake County storage FAQ
How far in advance should I book a delivery in Salt Lake County?
A few days is usually enough. Every Salt Lake County run is about an hour each way for us, so we group deliveries by area; the earlier you call 801-362-9978, the more choice you have on the day.
Is the move fee the same in Draper as in Magna?
Yes. Salt Lake County is one flat move fee, and the monthly rate on the container is the same everywhere we serve. The drive is our problem, not a line on your quote.
Can a container go on a Salt Lake City street?
Sometimes, with the city's permission. Each city in the valley sets its own rule for containers in the public right-of-way, so check with yours if the driveway will not work. On private property no permit is normally needed.
Can you hold my belongings if my new place is not ready?
Yes. We take the loaded container back to our gated yard and keep it there as long as you need. You pay the move fees in and out and the monthly rate; storage at the yard itself does not cost extra.
Will one container hold a three-bedroom house?
Often, yes. An 8x16 unit holds roughly three to four rooms, about a two- to three-bedroom home depending on how much furniture you have and how well it is packed. If you are unsure, fill one first and we can bring a second. If you need two, we can deliver them together if there is room on the driveway.
Do you deliver to the east bench and Cottonwood Heights?
Yes. Bench driveways are steeper and sometimes narrow, so send us a photo of the approach before booking. We deliver to hillside addresses regularly and will tell you if a particular driveway will not work.

Real jobs around the Salt Lake Valley
A few deliveries our drivers still talk about, one from each city we know best.
- Salt Lake City. A short driveway in the Avenues and winter on the way, so we set the container under the carport and kept the street clear for the plows. More on container delivery in Salt Lake City.
- Sandy. A restoration company called to ask how fast we could get them a container. They were five minutes from a truck that had just picked up an empty one, so the phone call took longer than the delivery. See storage containers in Sandy.
- South Jordan. Another company cancelled on a customer the day her container was due. We got one to her house quickly. See moving containers in South Jordan and Daybreak.
- West Jordan. One customer has used us for four more moves in five years. See portable storage in West Jordan.
- West Valley City. A remodel closed off the only way out of a backyard with our container still inside it. Now we ask on every remodel how the unit gets out. See storage containers in West Valley City.
- Herriman. An HOA objected to a container it could see from the street, so we moved it behind the house. See container delivery in Herriman.
- Millcreek. Home additions under big old trees. We check for low branches over the driveway before delivery day. See storage for Millcreek remodels and additions.
