Portable Storage Containers Delivered Across Utah
What Utah customers say
Storage that fits around a Utah family’s week
Moving with kids and a job rarely fits into one weekend. Most of the Utah families who call us aren’t looking for the cheapest box. They’re looking for time: time to pack the basement one evening, the garage the next Saturday, and the kids’ rooms last, without a rental truck’s clock running.
That’s what a Velox container is for. We set it in your driveway, you fill it on your own schedule, and when you’re ready we pick it up loaded and take it to your new place or hold it at our yard. No double-loading, no truck return by 6 PM, no storage unit across town.
Velox has been doing this in Utah since 2016. We started with six containers and a home-equity loan, and we still answer our own phone. In Utah, the number on this page reaches the owner, not a call center. That matters more than it sounds when the closing date slips or the builder needs another two weeks.
Where the containers come from. Our two Utah yards are in Springville and Pleasant Grove, which puts most of Utah County within a short run and the Salt Lake Valley, Davis and Weber counties within an easy day. We deliver across most of the state. The farther the drive from the nearest yard, the more the delivery costs, and we’ll tell you that number before you book. We don’t currently serve Logan or Cache Valley. We do serve Sanpete County.
Where we deliver in Utah
Along the Wasatch Front: Provo, Orem, Lehi, Spanish Fork, Springville, Pleasant Grove and American Fork in Utah County; Salt Lake City, Sandy, West Valley City, West Jordan, South Jordan, Millcreek and Herriman in the Salt Lake Valley; plus Davis and Weber counties to the north.
Growing fast right now: Lehi, Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain. New-home builds and move-ins come in waves by city, and these three are where most of our calls are coming from this year.
Farther out: Tooele, Summit (Park City and the Kamas Valley), Wasatch (Heber and Midway), Sanpete, and one-way moves to St. George in Washington County. Delivery pricing rises with distance from the nearest yard; ask and we’ll quote it straight.
Utah has plenty of older homes that need work and plenty of new ones going up. A container on site handles both: somewhere to put a room’s worth of furniture while the floors go in, or a way to stage a build without cluttering the lot.

Why Utah families and builders call Velox
- Two Utah yards, not one. Springville and Pleasant Grove. Shorter runs mean next-day delivery is usually possible and same-day occasionally is.
- Load at your pace. One month minimum, then pick-up any time after. Your price does not jump after the first month.
- Store it at our yard at no extra rent. Don’t know where you’re moving yet? We hold the loaded container at our gated yard until you do. You can visit by appointment.
- Distance pricing you’ll hear before you book. The rate depends on how far you are from the nearest yard, how many containers, how long, and how many moves. We say the number up front. No deposit, no hidden fees.
- Built for Utah driveways. Steep bench lots, gravel pads in Erda, tight Avenues streets, a garage you’d rather load from the inside in January. We handle placement case by case where national brands say no.
- Local people on the phone. Katie runs the office, Tyson drives and runs operations, and the owner still takes calls. One person can answer every question about your job.
Who uses portable storage in Utah
Families moving locally or between closing dates. Load over two weeks instead of one Saturday, then have the container waiting at the new house the morning you get the keys.
People building or remodeling. Builders and homeowners store furniture for the months a new home or a kitchen takes, right on the lot or at our yard. Restoration companies use them for pack-outs after water and fire damage. One water-main break in the valley flooded 16 homes at once, and we had containers at each of them the same day.
Students and seasonal moves. BYU and UVU summers, mission departures, one-way moves down to St. George.
Businesses and events. Job-site storage, office moves, and the occasional high school or city event. We’ve donated containers to races and city events when they’ll take one.
Utah portable storage questions
Do I need a permit to put a container in my driveway in Utah?
Usually not on your own driveway. Rules vary by city and HOA; most Utah cities only act if a neighbor complains, and a short-term permit typically settles it. Orem is the known exception: its code doesn’t allow containers on residential lots, so for Orem moves we plan a short load window and yard storage. Provo allows one container per lot for up to 30 days in any 12 months. Our Utah County permit guide lists each city.
Can you deliver on a steep or sloped driveway?
Often, yes. Send us a photo and we’ll tell you straight. Some national brands refuse steep driveways outright; we look at each one.
What about snow and winter moves?
The container is sealed against normal rain and snow, and we deliver year-round along the Wasatch Front. If you have a large garage, ask about setting the container inside so you load warm and dry.
How far out do you go, and does it cost more?
Most of Utah, from our Springville and Pleasant Grove yards. Delivery cost rises with distance from the nearest yard, and we quote it before you book. We don’t currently serve Logan or Cache Valley.
Can I get to my stuff while it’s stored at your yard?
Yes, by appointment. The yards are gated, so call or text ahead and a team member meets you, unlocks, and locks up. Storing at the yard adds nothing to your monthly rate.
How fast can you deliver?
Next-day is usually possible and same-day occasionally is. Book early for Friday afternoons, month-end, and the days before a holiday. Late May through mid-August is our busiest stretch.

How a Utah delivery works
- Call or text. Tell us the address and roughly when. If you’re not sure where the container should go, text us a photo of the spot. It’s the fastest way to book placement.
- We set it. The truck stays on the road. A machine lifts the container off and sets it anywhere a truck can drive: driveway, side yard, gravel pad, job site. It is not tipped or dragged like a dumpster. You don’t need to be home if the instructions are clear; the driver calls before arriving.
- You load. Evenings, weekends, whenever. Load limit is 7,500 lb; a typical loaded family container runs 3,000 to 4,000 lb. Food storage is the heaviest thing Utahns put in one.
- We move it or hold it. Loaded container to your new address, or to our yard until you’re ready. Loaded moves get priority on the schedule.
See the full process on our how it works page, or call or text (801) 362-9978. We usually have a few deals running, so ask.
Not sure how much fits? Load a real Velox unit in our 3D storage container space calculator. Tap your furniture, appliances and boxes and watch them fill the container.
