Practical Steps for a Move to Assisted Living
- Set up the new apartment first. Move in the essentials so your parent can settle before anyone decides what happens to the rest.
- Have a container delivered to the family home and load what is not going to the apartment. There is no truck to return, so you can take days or weeks.
- Once things calm down, go through the stored belongings together. Let your parent weigh in as much as they want to.
- Hand items to family over weeks or months. If the house needs to be listed, we can move the loaded container to our gated yard, and you can get into it by appointment.
