Portable Storage Containers in Summit County
Summit County storage has a rhythm the rest of Utah does not. Houses get remodeled in the shoulder seasons, nightly rentals turn over in blocks, second homes sit empty half the year, and everything has to work around snow. We deliver 8'x16' steel containers up I-80 over Parley's to Park City, Kimball Junction and the Snyderville Basin, and out through Kamas, Oakley, Francis, Coalville, Henefer and Peoa.
A container is often the only practical option up here. Driveways are tight, HOA storage is limited, and the nearest self-storage is usually full and a drive away. Putting a locked steel container on the property for the length of a project means furniture, ski gear and construction overflow stay on site instead of riding down the canyon twice.
Mountain Delivery, Planned Properly
We place containers with a truck, so the approach matters more here than it does on the valley floor. Steep driveways, switchbacks, low branches and gate widths are all worth a conversation before delivery day rather than on it. In winter, we ask that the drop spot be plowed and reasonably level — once the container is set, it stays put until we pick it up.
If the property is not ready or the project has not started, we can hold your loaded container in our secure yard and bring it up when the timing works.

How a Summit County delivery goes
We come up I-80 through Parley's Canyon from our Utah County yard with the container on our own truck, so the drive is part of the plan, not an afterthought. Before we book anything above the valley floor we want to know three things: how steep the driveway is, whether there are switchbacks or tight turns a truck with a container behind it has to be driven into deliberately, and whether there is a level spot at the top to set the unit down.
A photo of the driveway and the road approaching it usually answers all three. If the placement works, we book it. If it does not, we tell you before a truck spends an hour climbing the canyon to find out.
In winter, the drop spot needs to be plowed and reasonably level. Once the container is set it does not move until we pick it up, so if the plan is to keep it through the season, think about where the snow is going to be pushed.
Working around the Park City calendar
Summit County runs on seasons in a way the rest of Utah does not. Remodels happen in the shoulder months between ski and summer. Nightly rentals turn over in blocks. Second homes are occupied for a few weeks and empty for the rest of the year. All of that means the timing of a container matters as much as the container itself.
Because the unit is month to month, it can arrive when the crew does and leave when they do. If a project is pushed a season, it stays. If a house is being listed and the furniture needs to disappear for photos, we take the loaded unit to our gated yard and bring it back after closing — or deliver it to the next address.
The container is welded steel with a gasketed door seal, which matters at this elevation. Snow load, wind and the freeze-thaw cycle stay outside; ski gear, furniture and construction overflow stay dry.
Where we deliver in Summit County
Park City: Old Town, Prospector, Park Meadows, Deer Valley and Thaynes Canyon. Tight lots and steep driveways, so placement is the first conversation.
The Snyderville Basin: Kimball Junction, Pinebrook, Jeremy Ranch, Silver Springs and Trailside, mostly HOA neighborhoods with standard driveways.
The Kamas Valley: Kamas, Oakley, Francis, Peoa and Woodland, where lots are bigger, shops are common and the container often goes beside an outbuilding.
The north end: Coalville, Henefer, Hoytsville and Wanship along the I-80 and Weber River corridor.
All of Summit County is one flat move fee, and the monthly rate on the container is the same as it is on the valley floor.
Summit County storage FAQ
Can you deliver a container to a steep Park City driveway?
Often, yes, but we want to see it first. Send a photo of the driveway and the approach, and tell us the grade if you know it. We will give you a straight yes, a yes with a plan, or a no with a reason before you book.
Do you deliver to Kamas, Oakley and the eastern side of the county?
Yes. We serve Kamas, Oakley, Francis, Peoa, Coalville and Henefer as well as Park City, Kimball Junction and the Snyderville Basin. Summit County is one flat move fee for us.
Can I keep a container through the winter?
Yes. Plenty of mountain customers do. The unit is sealed steel and handles snow without trouble. The one thing we ask is that the drop spot be plowed and level on delivery day, and that you leave room for where the snow will be pushed afterwards.
Will an HOA in the Snyderville Basin allow a container?
Many do for the length of a project, some limit how long it can sit out front, and a few want it out of sight. Check with yours before booking. If the answer is no, we can store the loaded unit at our yard instead.
Can you hold my things until a nightly rental is between guests?
Yes. Load the container when the property is empty, we hold it at our gated yard, and bring it back for the next changeover. You pay the move fees in and out; storage at the yard does not cost extra.
Can you deliver to Deer Valley and Old Town Park City?
Often, yes, but those are the tightest lots in the county. Send a photo of the driveway and the street approach and tell us whether a delivery truck has been up before, and we will give you a straight answer.
