How long can I keep a Velox container for long-term storage?
As long as you need. Rentals are month-to-month with a one-month minimum, no deposit, and the monthly rate does not go up after the first month. Plenty of customers keep a unit for a year or more.
Can I get into my container while it is stored at your yard?
Yes, by appointment. Call or text ahead; our lots are gated, so a team member meets you, unlocks, and locks up when you are done. Storing the container at our yard adds nothing to the monthly rate.
Is the container climate controlled?
No. It keeps out normal rain and snow, but not summer heat, winter cold, or humidity. For long storage, load everything dry, use sealed totes and moisture absorbers, and keep documents, electronics, art, and antiques somewhere else.
Do I need my own lock and insurance?
A lock is not included; any padlock works, or we sell one at hardware-store price. Insurance is not automatic, so check your homeowners or renters policy first (more in our FAQ). Velox offers optional third-party coverage up to $20,000 for theft, fire, flood, and transport damage.
